Odd’s and Sod’s cleanup!
October 13th, 2008 1:00:20 am by PhilWe revisited a “did not find” cache whilst out and about Sunday afternoon. On the way we made some new friends! The footpath seemed to go straight through their field but we decided to go the long way ’round. The GPS took us to the same spot as before but this time we widened our search area, Jane quickly found the cache!

September 21st, 2008 10:55:05 am by PhilCompleted a series of 7 (6+bonus) caches around the village of Bourn nr Cambridge. One of the cache’s was in a children’s play area, after a few minutes of arriving we were pounced on by a concerned local who thought we were council officals inspecting the playground! Whilst Jane kept her head down trying to hide her giggling, I was given a guided tour of the area and it’s problems. I didn’t have the heart to dash the poor woman’s hopes and played along, taking note of the issues. I wonder if it is illegal to impersonate a council worker? We also got a couple of feet away from a young fox on our ramblings, we stood and watched each other for what seemed ages. Here’s Jane doing her troll impression…

August 14th, 2008 1:05:07 pm by PhilPopped over the border into Bude to find the sunshine. Finished the day catching, once again geocachers round here must be built like mountain goats! Jane had to look the other way to save her nerves while I scrambled across the clifftop sticking my hand into any rabbit holes which might contain the cache. As there was no rain or wind today I did manage to get it, hurray! p.s. No Lorna it is not a stuffed seagull!
A Momentery lapse of DNF’s
August 13th, 2008 1:25:10 pm by PhilFinally our luck changed and we were able to drop off our TB’s (and picked up a couple more to bring home) in Croyde. We parked 0.2 miles from the cache but unfortunately it was mostly vertical! Pop Quiz: Croyde bay was used for the cover of the Pink Floyd album ‘A Momentary Lapse of Reason’ (the one with all the beds on the beach), I’m pretty sure it was pre Photoshop i.e no camera trickery!
